Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, 1/4 cup chopped onion, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into four patties.
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown patties on both sides, then remove from skillet and set aside.
- Add 1/4 cup chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add mushrooms and cook until browned.
- Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and onions, stirring for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer, stirring until thickened.
- Return patties to the skillet. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until patties are cooked through.
Notes
- Serve with mashed potatoes or noodles.
- For a richer gravy, you can add a splash of heavy cream.
