Description
Simple, no-bake treats shaped like acorns using Oreos and chocolate.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon shortening (optional, for smoother melting)
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (for the ‘cap’)
Instructions
- Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and process until fine crumbs form.
- In a medium bowl, mix the Oreo crumbs and softened cream cheese until fully combined.
- Roll the mixture into small, acorn-shaped ovals, about 1 inch long. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Chill the shaped acorns in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Melt the chocolate chips and shortening (if using) in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Dip the top third of each chilled acorn into the melted chocolate.
- Immediately press a few chopped nuts onto the wet chocolate to resemble the acorn cap.
- Return the treats to the refrigerator until the chocolate is firm, about 1 hour.
Notes
- If you do not have a food processor, place Oreos in a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
- Use white chocolate instead of semi-sweet for a different look.
