Description

A quick method for making soft, warm baked apples using a microwave.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium apples (such as Fuji or Gala)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Wash and core the apples. Do not peel them.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Place the apples in a microwave-safe dish.
  4. Spoon the sugar and cinnamon mixture into the center cavity of each apple.
  5. Pour 1 tablespoon of water into the bottom of the dish.
  6. Cover the dish loosely with a microwave-safe lid or plastic wrap, leaving a small vent.
  7. Microwave on high for 3 to 5 minutes, or until the apples are tender when pierced with a fork. Cooking time varies based on apple size and microwave power.
  8. Let the apples stand for 1 minute before serving.
