- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon dried culinary lavender
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the salt, lemon zest, and dried lavender.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Shape the dough into a log, wrap it in plastic wrap, and chill for at least 30 minutes.
- Slice the chilled dough into 1/4-inch thick rounds.
- Place the rounds on the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Use only culinary-grade dried lavender for consumption.
- For a sweeter cookie, you can dust the cooled cookies with extra powdered sugar.
