A straightforward dessert featuring baked apples sweetened with honey and spiced with cinnamon.

- 4 medium apples (such as Fuji or Honeycrisp)
- 4 tablespoons honey
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
- Wash the apples. Core the apples, leaving the bottom intact to create a cup shape.
- Place the cored apples in a small baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix the honey and cinnamon together.
- Spoon the honey cinnamon mixture evenly into the center cavity of each apple.
- Place a small piece of butter on top of the honey mixture in each apple.
- Pour the water into the bottom of the baking dish around the apples.
- Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until the apples are tender when pierced with a fork.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- You can substitute maple syrup for honey if desired.
- For a richer flavor, sprinkle chopped walnuts or pecans over the honey before baking.
