A layered taco dip shaped and decorated for a Halloween theme.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (15 ounce) can refried beans
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 package (1 ounce) taco seasoning mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup chopped black olives
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • Tortilla chips for serving

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix the sour cream and taco seasoning until combined.
  2. On a serving platter, spread the refried beans in an even layer.
  3. Spread the seasoned sour cream mixture over the beans.
  4. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese and Monterey Jack cheese over the sour cream layer.
  5. Arrange the chopped black olives and green onions on top to create a Halloween design, such as a spider or a simple face.
  6. Serve immediately with tortilla chips.

Notes

  • You can chill the dip for 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to blend.
  • Use cream cheese instead of sour cream for a thicker layer.
  • Add a layer of seasoned ground beef between the beans and sour cream for a meat version.
