- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup ghost pepper sauce (adjust to heat preference)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cans (8 ounces each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the taco seasoning mix and water. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the ghost pepper sauce and shredded cheese until the cheese melts. Let the mixture cool slightly.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough. Separate the dough into triangles.
- Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the meat filling onto the wider end of each dough triangle.
- Fold the dough over the filling to form a triangle shape. Crimp the edges with a fork to seal.
- Place the sealed hand pies on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the tops of the hand pies with the beaten egg wash.
- Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
Notes
- For extra heat, add a pinch of dried ghost pepper powder to the meat mixture.
- Serve with sour cream or salsa for dipping.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the ground beef.
