Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons melted butter, plus more for the griddle
- 1/4 cup chocolate syrup (for decoration)
Instructions
- Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined; do not overmix.
- Heat a lightly buttered griddle over medium heat.
- Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the griddle for each pancake.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown.
- Place a cooked pancake on a plate.
- Use a squeeze bottle or a spoon to drizzle concentric circles of chocolate syrup onto the pancake.
- Use a toothpick to drag from the center outward to create the spiderweb effect.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- You can use buttermilk instead of regular milk for fluffier pancakes.
- Prepare the chocolate syrup ahead of time so it is ready for decorating.
