Ingredients
Scale
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 4 slices sandwich bread or buns
- 1/2 cup Caesar dressing
- 1 cup romaine lettuce, chopped
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Pound the chicken breasts to an even 1/2 inch thickness.
- Mix flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in one shallow dish.
- Whisk the egg and milk in a second shallow dish.
- Place breadcrumbs in a third shallow dish.
- Dredge each chicken piece first in the flour mixture, then dip in the egg mixture, and finally coat thoroughly with breadcrumbs.
- Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Fry the chicken for 4-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature 165°F or 74°C).
- Remove chicken and drain on paper towels.
- Lightly toast your bread or buns.
- Spread Caesar dressing on both slices of bread.
- Layer the crispy chicken, chopped romaine lettuce, and Parmesan cheese on the bottom slice.
- Top with the second slice of bread to complete the sandwich.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, chill the breaded chicken for 15 minutes before frying.
- You can bake or air fry the chicken instead of deep frying for a lower fat option.
