  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 4 slices sandwich bread or buns
  • 1/2 cup Caesar dressing
  • 1 cup romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Pound the chicken breasts to an even 1/2 inch thickness.
  2. Mix flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in one shallow dish.
  3. Whisk the egg and milk in a second shallow dish.
  4. Place breadcrumbs in a third shallow dish.
  5. Dredge each chicken piece first in the flour mixture, then dip in the egg mixture, and finally coat thoroughly with breadcrumbs.
  6. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  7. Fry the chicken for 4-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature 165°F or 74°C).
  8. Remove chicken and drain on paper towels.
  9. Lightly toast your bread or buns.
  10. Spread Caesar dressing on both slices of bread.
  11. Layer the crispy chicken, chopped romaine lettuce, and Parmesan cheese on the bottom slice.
  12. Top with the second slice of bread to complete the sandwich.
