Description

A simple recipe for making flavorful chicken fajitas with bell peppers and onions.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 large bell pepper (any color), sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 8 small flour tortillas

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss the sliced chicken with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the seasoned chicken to the hot skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until cooked through. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Add the sliced bell pepper and onion to the same skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender-crisp.
  5. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet with the vegetables. Stir to combine and heat through.
  6. Warm the tortillas according to package directions.
  7. Serve the chicken and vegetable mixture in the warm tortillas.

  • Serve with your favorite toppings such as salsa, sour cream, guacamole, or shredded cheese.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the chicken seasoning.
