Description

A simple recipe for making refreshing black lemonade using activated charcoal.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon activated charcoal powder
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Combine water and sugar in a saucepan. Heat gently until the sugar dissolves completely. Do not boil.
  2. Remove the sugar water from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
  3. In a large pitcher, mix the cooled sugar water, lemon juice, and activated charcoal powder. Stir well until the charcoal is fully incorporated and the liquid is uniformly black.
  4. Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  5. Serve over ice cubes.

  • If you do not have granulated sugar, you can substitute with simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water, heated until dissolved).
