Description

A fast recipe for chicken coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs chicken breasts or thighs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon cold water (slurry)

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add chicken and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and ginger. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  5. Whisk the cornstarch slurry into the simmering sauce. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 1 minute.
  6. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Toss to coat the chicken evenly with the sauce.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Serve this dish over rice or with steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, increase the cornstarch slurry slightly.
