Description
A fast recipe for chicken coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs chicken breasts or thighs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon cold water (slurry)
Instructions
- Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and ginger. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Whisk the cornstarch slurry into the simmering sauce. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 1 minute.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet. Toss to coat the chicken evenly with the sauce.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Serve this dish over rice or with steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, increase the cornstarch slurry slightly.
