Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 1 green onion, sliced (for garnish)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Add the ground beef to the marinade and mix until combined.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the marinated beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until fully browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
  5. Drain any excess liquid from the skillet.
  6. Divide the cooked rice among serving bowls.
  7. Spoon the cooked beef mixture over the rice.
  8. Garnish with sliced green onion and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes
