A simple recipe for cooking Italian sausage with bell peppers and onions.
Ingredients

- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound Italian sausage links
- 2 large bell peppers (any color), sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup water or chicken broth
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add sausage links to the skillet and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove sausage and set aside.
- Add sliced peppers and onion to the same skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 8-10 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
- Return the sausage to the skillet. Pour in water or broth.
- Cover the skillet, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 15 minutes, allowing flavors to combine.
- Season with salt and pepper before serving.
Notes
- Serve this dish on crusty rolls for a sandwich.
- You can add a pinch of dried oregano for extra flavor.
