Description

A quick recipe for sweet and savory shrimp coated in a honey garlic sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp dry and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Do not let it burn.
  4. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes, if using.
  6. Pour the sauce over the shrimp in the skillet. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and coats the shrimp.
  7. Remove from heat and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Serve this shrimp over rice or with steamed vegetables.
  • For extra flavor, add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice at the end.
