Honey Garlic Shrimp Bowl

Description

A quick and flavorful shrimp dish served over rice.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 1 cup steamed broccoli florets
  • 2 green onions, sliced for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss the shrimp with soy sauce and cornstarch until coated.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to medium. Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in the honey, rice vinegar, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 1 minute until slightly thickened.
  6. Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat completely in the sauce.
  7. Divide the cooked rice between two bowls. Top with steamed broccoli and the sauced shrimp. Garnish with sliced green onions.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a squeeze of fresh lime juice to the sauce before serving.
  • If you prefer, substitute brown rice for white rice.
