Description

A simple recipe for beef pasta coated in a rich garlic and Parmesan sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound pasta (e.g., fettuccine or penne)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water before draining.
  2. While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it up, until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add minced garlic to the beef and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in beef broth and bring to a simmer. Cook for 3 minutes, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  6. Stir in heavy cream and Italian seasoning. Reduce heat to low.
  7. Gradually stir in Parmesan cheese until the sauce thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper.
  8. Add the drained pasta and a splash of the reserved pasta water to the skillet. Toss everything together until the pasta is coated in the sauce. Add more pasta water if the sauce seems too thick.
  9. Serve immediately.

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic.
