Description

A quick and flavorful pasta dish with succulent shrimp in a rich garlic butter sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound linguine or spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1.5 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine (optional)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
  3. Add minced garlic to the same skillet and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Reduce heat to medium-low. Add butter to the skillet and melt. If using, pour in white wine and let it simmer for 1 minute.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until the sauce slightly thickens.
  6. Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Add the drained pasta and chopped parsley. Toss to combine, adding a splash of reserved pasta water if needed to reach your desired sauce consistency.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve immediately with lemon wedges.

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic.
  • You can substitute chicken broth for white wine if preferred.
