Description
Simple baked potatoes topped with cheese and ranch seasoning.
Ingredients

- 4 medium Russet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons dry ranch seasoning mix
- 1/4 cup sour cream (optional topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
- Scrub the potatoes clean and pierce each potato several times with a fork.
- Rub the potatoes with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Bake the potatoes directly on the oven rack for 45 to 60 minutes, or until tender when squeezed.
- Remove the potatoes from the oven and carefully slice them open lengthwise.
- Fluff the inside of each potato with a fork.
- Sprinkle the dry ranch seasoning mix evenly over the inside of the potatoes.
- Top each potato with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Return the potatoes to the oven for 5 minutes, or until the cheese melts.
- Serve immediately, topping with sour cream if desired.
Notes
- For crispier skins, rub the potatoes with a little extra oil before baking.
- You can substitute Monterey Jack cheese for cheddar.
