A simple hack to make boxed yellow cake mix taste homemade.

- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, sour cream, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Beat with an electric mixer on low speed until just combined, then increase to medium speed and beat for 2 minutes.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- You can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream.
- Add chocolate chips or sprinkles to the batter for variations.
- Frost the cooled cake as desired.
